Iris by R.K. Lilley

This is book 2 of the Wild Side series.

Another exhilarating, thrilling and exotic ride from R.K. Lilley!

Though I really loved this series, I am left screaming again, waiting for something or anything about the elusive Iris. I am left out of my wits for wanting to find out more about her. I feel for Dair. I've also loved him even more.

This sequel isn't aimed to answer anything. It's aimed to leave us with more questions before you even start reading it. But then, we crave the mystery of it.

I read this in less than 2 hours, all the while not realizing time passing by. All I wanted was to heal Dair from his broken heart.

I cannot wait for the next book! I've also learned that after Dair, there will be two more books, The Other Man and Tyrant.

I really can't wait!!! And before I forget, I hope the author will give us a bit of appearance from Mr. Cavendish himself, not just his hotel!

Another teaser from Sylvia Day!

New teaser from Captivated by You

Tethered - L.D. Davis

Ok. So it took me a long time to finish the book as I felt that it was too long. This is because of the long history of the hero and heroine, Emmet and Donya. But then, when I think about it, their long history was worth it because we get to experience everything about them from start to finish. And I felt that their story was in 3 books all rolled into 1. Reading Emmy’s story in the other books, who knew that Donya’s story would be so exciting! I was so anxious to read this book especially after reading the teaser on Worth the Fight.

Same as with the other books of L.D. Davis, I didn’t get bored with how the story was written. Though there were parts were I felt was a bit repetitive, like when Felix is being described how gorgeous and flirty he is and the back and forth of Emmet and Donya’s relationship. But these are just minor issues that didn’t distract us from the beauty of the story of Emmet and Donya. And that despite their back and forth, I didn’t hate any of them and I liked them even more!

It was also nice to get updated with Luke and Emmy!

This book is recommended to those who like second chance romance.

Book to Movie

Another book turned into a movie.

I haven't read the book from Gayle Forman yet but I might have to start it soon in time for the showing.

Hate to Love You by Elise Alden

I didn’t expect to love this book as I got confused on the first chapter. But then I got hooked on the third. The story is so powerful and painful and full of longing. The story is also about hatred and forgiveness.

James and Paisley was so right and so wrong for each other but their connection is so powerful that it pains me to read their struggles. I hurt for Paisley, I wanted to hug her and slap Caroline and her parents. The title is totally apt for James as you will really hate to love him. He is an arrogant prick and most of the time I wanted to wash his filthy mouth.

The story is written in two parts, from past to present. There were moments where I got confused with some parts like Paisley’s age and some British words but these are just minor issues. What’s really important is that the story is beautiful and unique and it pinches your heart from start to finish.

This book is recommended to those who love to read about love hate relationships.

Suzanne's Diary for Nicholas by James Patterson

This is the first book I read from James Patterson. Actually I got the audio book version. Though this is quite old already and I’ve read that the book already has a movie version, I still loved it. After reading a very emotional book where I cried my heart out, I listened to this, and boy did I have a major cry again. Especially on the last part where I was reading the entry of Matt I couldn’t stop my ugly cry. It took me long time to write my review as I was still reeling from the heart break. I’m still on the verge of tears every time I remember the story.

Anyway moving on, I loved the voice of the reader. It was pleasing to the ears and she was able to convey the emotions of the story. I felt close to Suzanne when her diary was being read. And I must also add that because I loved the book so much, I will always be looking out for more James Patterson books that are emotionally powerful as this one. I am also itching to watch the movie version of the book.

Carnage - Lesley Jones

I was such on an emotional roll lately when I read this book. I must admit I caught a glimpse of the last part of the book before I started reading it and I felt tears well up. So, I put my big girl panties on and started this powerful story. Georgia and Sean’s story started out when they were kids and spanned throughout their life. I’m not going to speak much of the plot, but I can say that the ending was really hard for me. I cried so hard, it was so painful. It was such an emotional read that there were parts where I had to stop.

Moving on, what I liked about the book is that it was a complete story, though I’m pretty sure I’d be waiting for the sequel to this. I have an idea on who it’s going to be about but I won’t say it for fear of ruining the story for others who haven’t read this yet.

Some of my issues: I felt that the way Sean professed his love for Georgia during the start of their relationship didn’t quite fit his age, like he was an old man inside a young boy’s body sort. His statements were too deep and emotional for a teenage kid. Though I loved Sean, his character is beautiful along with Cam. I cannot say the same for Georgia; I felt that she is selfish for her own good. There were also lots of spelling and grammatical errors. But these minor issues didn’t take away the beauty of the story.

This book is highly recommended to those who loved the Emi’s Lost and Found series by Lori Otto.

Room for More - Beth Ehemann

If you want something light and angst-free this is the book for you. Read the first book to appreciate Kacie and Brody and the Twinkies. I liked the first book better though because I got frustrated with the heroine because she still has the lying by omission gig going on. You will fall in love more with Brody in this sequel though. Zach the ex made an appearance as well and we get to understand his version. This is recommended to those who needs a breather from dark angst-ridden books and as an in between sequels who have heavy subject matter.

Hello Mr. Grey: Jamie Dornan as Christian Grey

Let Me Go - DC Renee

I really tried to like this book. I almost DNF, but I wanted to give it a chance so I finished it. But my opinion is still the same. What got me started with this book was the blurb was catchy and unique. However, it didn’t fall through as the characters were mostly stuck in the predictable love-hate monologue where it was mostly repetitive. I also would have preferred more interactions between the H/h to build their connection. It was also hard to imagine, even in a fantasy, how someone would go through the lengths of kidnap without validating the name. Also since I didn’t feel the connection of the main characters, I couldn’t feel the love they have for each other. Maybe the book would have been better if a touch of darkness was added to it. There was so much potential for the book and it can still be improved.

The Mistress - James Patterson and David Ellis

Sadly, this book did not work for me. I got the audio book version, but it didn't hold my interest.
It had too much unnecessary details for my taste.

Life...

I have been remiss with my reading and updating this blog recently. The reason being, my depressing life has caught up with me again.

Problems, sometimes you forget it, sometimes it catches up with you and you have to face it head on. It's just pretty hard to do that when you have no control of the problem. When what you can only do is wait and pray and be patient and not to stress out.

See, I have been married for quite sometime now but still waiting for our little one. After countless of medical procedures, still no luck. Sometimes I just want to quit and sleep and be depressed. But I can't do that because I have to think of my husband as well. I cant lose hope for him.

And so my own story continues, and right now I'm currently reading this book to help our plight. So far I am in the middle of it, and it gives me more insights and recommendations to help our issues. It also doesn't hurt to understand the medical procedures so you don't get swayed into the wrong solutions. What I also liked about the book is that authors went through the same problem as mine and both collaborated to create this book. One is a reproductive endocrinologist, Daniel Potter MD while the other is Jennifer Hanin, a freelance writer.

I just find myself taking long to finish the book as sometimes I get depressed so I stop and start another book, then go back to it once again after a while. So there. Please bear with me.

To those in the same plight as mine, do consider reading this book.

Coming Out Soon

Another sequel from the Addicted series!!!
This book is about Connor and Rose.
