The thrill of forbidden love.

This two part series is about the love between an older woman and a much younger guy.

Their love for each other is so beautiful that you couldn't see right from wrong.

In book one, we get to meet the two beautiful characters,  Sebastian and Caroline. We read about their life before they met, Caroline's crumbling marriage and Sebastian' s abusive childhood. We get to read about how they came together and how their love blossomed. The thrill of the forbidden is so exciting that I understood their recklessness. It's just so easy to forget the present when you are so in love. This was the start of their problem and book one ended on the height of this. My heart bled for Caroline and Sebastian at the end of this book. Their dreams were within their reach and it was abruptly taken away.

In book two, we get to meet a different Sebastian and Caroline. Both damaged from their past. Both hardened and cynical. Their issues forgotten but not left behind. Both still carrying the weight of their pain. We get to read how both tried to move on and move forward. They both failed and yet they still tried to pick up and deal with the issues. We get to experience their life as a journalist and a marine. There were so many painful parts as well as the love. In the end there were still issues that they need to settle but they are in a good place, finally.

This series is recommended to those whose interested in forbidden romances. This story is also unique in a sense that this is the first book that I read where the forbidden love is between an older woman and a younger man. It's usually the other way around.

Oh wow. What have I read? My head is still spinning. I just finished this book and my mind is still thinking of the ending. It is a total mind fk.

Last time I felt this was when I read Gone Girl. Now this book is so far from that story but yet so similar in the mind f
k. I didn’t know where my head's at, the moment I read the last line.

I don't know to describe the story without giving away the mystery. Just to be vague, the story is about two broken individuals who found each other at the right time. The heroine has anger issues, abused as a child way into her college years. While the same goes for the hero who suffered way more earlier.

From the prologue I already know that the story got inside my head. We have both the hero and heroine telling it. The epilogue is also told in both views.

Throughout the story we get a bunch of other POV that I am opting not to mention. You will understand once you get started on it.

The flow of how this was written is by alternating Emma's and David's past to present.

Initially I was not liking the seemingly fast pacing of their relationship. I mean, they've understood each other already early on and have even slept together just days after they met. Somehow it eventually leveled out when their emotional connection was built little by little into the story. The readers will definitely feel it because no matter how twisted they both are I wanted them to get their shit together and make it work.

After reading this ape shit crazy book I don’t even know if I can move on to the next. This book leaves us with a major cliffhanger and major hangover. I'm being a coward and would probably need a breather first. Good thing I already have the following book titled Pull.

Book Review: Unattainable - Madeline Sheehan

Title:Series: Unattainable
Author: Madeline Sheehan
POV: Tegen, Cage, Ellie, Dirty and a little of Deuce
Cliffhanger: No

On a scale of 1 to 5 (highest) stars:
Sexiness: 3
Angst: 4
Plot: 4
Thought Provoking: 3
Hangover: 3

Overall Rating: 3.4 stars

Story picks up years after the epilogue of book 2. It started with Tegen. Tegen and ZZ who would have thought.

This is the next generation of Horsemen MC. The story of Cage and then Ellie, Danny's friend and Dirty.

I haven't really warmed up to liking Ellie and Tegen as they were both snobby and discriminating for their own good.

I liked Dirty though, so mysterious and brooding. I wanted to find out his issues and hug him. And when I reached that scene, I felt for him. He's become damaged because of his past.

Cage's view gives us a not so nice side to Deuce. Perplexes me how can he treat his son the same way Reaper treated him. Deuce is irritating the same as level as his sexiness.

I'm not feeling Tegen. The Cage-Tegen story is so tiring. I've had enough of their back and forth. I don't really like her for Cage. She's an ingrate and she's not true to herself. Her character is boring and she's just creating drama for drama's sake.

The only saving grace of this sequel is the story of Dirty and Ellie. His issues run so deep that I wanted to know Ellie could help him get through it. I wanted to know how they could make a relationship work.

Another character that making me come back for more is Deuce. The sexy, scary and ultimate bad boy president of the club.

Anyway towards the end of the book and it was starting to get dragging mind you, something happened that woke me up a little. Good thing though that the epilogue wasn't that far along because I was getting into the funk already.

In conclusion, I still liked this book but not as much as the first book of this series. I just wasn't in love with Tegen and Ellie. Both have redeemed themselves in the end but it didn't work for me. But this is still worth reading especially if you want to get updated with Deuce and Eva.

Book Review: Unbeautifully - Madeline Sheehan

Perspective is a bitch when it slaps you in the face, after the fact.

Title:Series: Unbeautifully
Author: Madeline Sheehan
POV: Danny, Ripper, Eva and Deuce
Cliffhanger: No

On a scale of 1 to 5 (highest) stars:
Sexiness: 4
Angst: 5
Plot: 4
Thought Provoking: 4
Hangover: 4

Overall Rating: 4.2 stars

UnBeautifully begins where Undeniable’s epilogue ended. The story then backtracks to the years that passed between the last chapter and epilogue in Undeniable, and then continues until the present.

The story started with ZZ and Danny, together and in love, with Ripper brooding on the side. How this all came to be is what this sequel is all about.

The story also deals with how the both broken Eva and Deuce picked up the pieces of the aftermath of what Frankie was done. This two really had a hard and painful life to get to where they are at the end of the book.

Told in Danny and Ripper's view, we get inside the mind of Deuce's spoiled daughter and his trusted  sidekick. We also get a lots of chapters on Deuce and Eva.

What i loved about this book is that it allowed us to catch up with the original characters. The story didn’t just focus on new characters,  but still continued along with the other original characters. It allowed focus on more than just one plot. This is a good thing because I am not yet ready to say bye to Eva and Deuce. We will get to fall more and more in love with them in this book, and hopefully in the coming books as well.

As with the first book, this is filled with violence, crime and lots and lots of cursing.  And before I forget, the sex still didn’t disappoint either! This book also sets the pace for the next book. The story of Tegen and the hottie Cage who is very much like his father. And lets not forget the turbulence that is Dorothy, Jase and Hawk for book 4.

This is recommended to those who love biker stories and for the fans of Sons of Anarchy. Read through and get updated with the Horsemen MC family.

Book Review: Undeniable by Madeline Sheehan

Title:Series: Undeniable
Author: Madeline Sheehan
POV: Eva and Deuce
Cliffhanger: No

On a scale of 1 to 5 (highest) stars:
Sexiness: 5
Angst: 5
Plot: 5
Thought Provoking: 4
Hangover: 5

Overall Rating: 4.8 stars

Initially I was quite bothered by how the older characters speak to the 5 year old Eva because of all the swearing and conversations that are not suitable for children. Eventually tho I realized that this is how it is in this book.

There are so many levels of wrong that’s happened in the book, but I couldn't help but still get engrossed in it.

When I found out soon enough the hitch that Deauce is carrying, why he couldn't be with Eva, I felt sad and disappointed. I felt mixed up as it’s pretty hard to accept something that is so wrong.

I loved Deuce and Eva together. Their connection was so strong. I felt it. I consumed it throughout the book. But I couldn't help but feel like I wanted to slap Deuce so hard for all the hurtful things he did to Eva. He paid for it though, really paid for it that left him almost broken.

I liked Eva more. She was the stubborn and badass chick that's perfect for Deuce's persona. What I didn’t like is how she helped turn crazy Frankie into an all out homicidal maniac. She mobilized him and made him crazier each day. Another thing that's hard to fathom is how despite knowing the craziness inside Frankie, the Preacher still allowed his daughter be near him and be with him. It was riduculous. But I loved her resilience. Her heart who could forgive easily. She has been dealt with so many wrongs that you would think twice how come the chick still has fire inside her.

Moving on to the sex scenes? Oh my! Way off the charts! See there are sex scenes that are detailed but some just doesn't work for me. This book though, detailed like others, but still so hot. But there were also many of those that were so downright filthy. Specifically those with other people.

I liked the writing style. There are scenes that were written on present but also gives us a glimpse of whatever's gonna happen next. It's like a quick shift of present to future which entralled me further and further into the story. And don’t think twice but this book even had scenes and conversations that were pretty funny!

And the angst! The book is so full of it. What with all the back and forth, from the declarations of love to the upfront cheating and gut wrenching words.

This book is a perfect mix of love, hope, pain, disappointment, happiness, contentment yet gut wrenching all rolled into this book. Now this is just book 1. Can't wait what the next books has in store.

This is recommended to those who loved bikers and dark romance. If you can take reading a love story with lots of crime and lots of unthinkable situations well go ahead. And I aint finished yet. There’s a whole lot of cussing and a whole lot of name calling that my brain almost shifted into this new normal. This is not for the faint hearted, even I couldn't shake some of if. So put your big girl panties on and dive right in because you will definitely get sucked and hopefully to ultimately love it. Lastly, I have no doubt that this book is inspired by the Sons of Anarchy TV series, and so if you're a fan, like me recently, this book is for you.

Book Review: Bad Romeo by Leisa Rayven

"It’s about us! It’s about me expecting things from you that I shouldn’t. It’s about me wanting romance, and dates, and intimacy that stems from more than humping and orgasms, and me wanting to tell our friends that the mystery guy I’m seeing who can turn me on with a single look or touch is you. And most of all, it’s about being angry with myself for falling for a man who told me very plainly not to fall for him! That’s what it’s about! And now it’s too late, and I feel like the stupidest person on the planet, because you’re never going to give me what I need, and I should have known better than to expect you to.”

Told in heroine view alternating past to present

The scene in the rain blew my heart out of my chest. It was so painful and sad. I felt so disappointed with Ethan. My chest was crying for Cassie to wake up and be done with him. But I also felt what she's seen in him, hope. But that little hope comes with misery that can’t be avoided any longer.

In great twist of fate, the hurt inflicted by the hero to the heroine in the past, was the same intensity inflicted by heroine to the hero in the present. Ths role reversal with exactly the same issues they had before happened again. It was brilliant, believable and so damn real. The emotions are all over the place.

The story started out with ths hero having deeply rooted abandonment, commitment and emotional issues. The issues so deep that I can’t even begin to think how the will heroine survive it. True enough she hadn't and then the vitriol inflicted on her affected her so much so that she also suffered the same issues eventually.

I can’t help but hate the hero for doing that to her. I loved Cassie. I loved her character, she's resilient and always giving and giving without expecting anything in return. Her only fault is that she allowed Ethan to take her for granted. She allowed him to step on her and crush her heart. Ethan is selfish and coward and the ultimate douchebag. Though just as I started hating on him, he does something so romantic that I just melt. And so I felt really frustrated with the back and forth of Ethan and Cassie. The sexual tension was so up the charts!

I just recently found out that there will be a sequel to this story titled Broken Juliet. I'm assuming that it will be the continuation as the ending is a bit of a cliffhanger. It seems like it ended in a good way but I still wanted more! I seriously can’t wait for it.

Book Review: The Unidentified Redhead, The Redhead Revealed and The Redhead Plays Her Hand by Alice Clayton

Title: The Unidentified Redhead, The Redhead Revealed and The Redhead Plays Her Hand
Series: Yes
Author: Alice Clayton
POV: Heroine
Cliffhanger: Nope. Though I guess it can be read separately because a summary or a background on the previous book is provided on books 2 and 3. But for me personally I prefer to read it in a consecutive manner.
On a scale of 1 to 5 (highest) stars:
Sexiness: 4
Angst: 4

Thought Provoking: 3
Hangover: 4
Overall Rating:  4 stars

This rating is for the three Redhead books.

I've had this series for quite sometime now but haven't gotten around to reading it sooner. The story is a breath of fresh air from the other more angsty books. The plot is somehow similar to other books (hero is a celebrity) but I haven't read something where the heroine is also a celebrity and that she is older. I liked it because I can relate to it, my husband is 4 years younger.

In book 1 we get to experience how Jack and Grace met and how their love story started. In this book Jack is still awaiting the release of his movie that would ultimately place him as a sought after celebrity, while Grace is still trying to find out her place in the industry. We also get to meet Holly, the ultimate best friend who I'm sure you will all love.

In book 2 we get to see the start of Grace's career, the break that she has been waiting for all her life. We see the start of Jack's celebrity status. Think Robert Pattinson at the start of the Twilight franchise. We also read about how Jack and Grace make their relationship survive. They try to make it work despite the usual MO of relationship status denials. But I wanted to slap Grace in this sequel for letting her insecurites take over.

Come book 3, the lovable Jack pissed me off! Fame got into his head! Grace redeemed herself here because of how she showed her love for Jack. I loved her for not being the nagging girlfriend. I got incensed at her for tolerating Jack's tantrums but I eventually understood her style and I liked it. I definitely learned something from her!

This series is highly recommended to those who love reading about celebrity love stories.

Oh wow! This is my first biker book and I loved it!
I can help but think about Charlie Hunnam in Son's of Anarchy as Grizz.

This is a forbidden love story between the kidnap victim and the head of the biker gang who is much much older. Be warned though, not only does the plot talk about something forbidden, but it also deals with lots of crime and murder. There were also parts that made me cringe.

More than that though, despite their unconventional situation and how wrong it is on so many levels, I felt Grizz's love for Kit.

I will have to stop now because I might inadvertently disclose something that could ruin the story for others.

My suggestion is to go in blind and discover the mystery and secrets of the story by yourself because it is really worth it. My heart was in constant alert for what could happen next. From the Prologue to the Epilogue I couldn't stop reading. From the very start I was hooked. And the ending got me reeling.

I cannot wait to read the next book about Grunt. I'm quite not sure if I love him or not just yet.

This book is highly recommended to fans of dark romance that doesn't deal with BDSM for a change.

Now because of this book I might give another famous series about bikers a try.

Book Review: Shutter Volume 1 and 2 by Sarah Dosher

Title: Shutter Volume 1 and 2
Series: Yes
Author: Eli Chastain / Sarah Dosher
POV: Heroine
Cliffhanger: Yes
On a scale of 1 to 5 (highest) stars:
Sexiness: 4
Angst: 4

Thought Provoking: 3
Hangover: 4
Overall Rating: 3.5 stars

This rating is for the first two books.

I got curious with the blurb of this series. I finished  the first two books quickly. I believe book 3 will hopefully be out this coming December.

Both books are just short. Just 10 chapters maximum. The story is about obsession. Obsession turned into stalking. Then the tables are turned and the stalker suddenly becomes the victim. What a twist.

I cannot wait for the next book to see what happens with Brook and Nico. The story story is a light reading with a moderate subject matter and a tinge of angst.

This is my first book from this author and I must say I was intrigued by her writing. I will probably read more from this author.

Book Review: On the Record and For the Record by K.A. Linde

Title: On the Record (book 2) and For the Record (book 3)
Series: Yes
Author: K.A. Linde
POV: heroine and little bit of the hero
Cliffhanger:  Yes
On a scale of 1 to 5 (highest) stars:
Sexiness: 5
Angst: 4
Plot: 4
Thought Provoking: 4
Hangover: 5
Overall Rating: 4.5 stars

This rating is for books 2 and 3.

I didn’t think I would love this series but I did! Both books immediately picks up right after the previous sequel.

Book 2 was the culmination of all the angst and pain for both the hero and heroine. It was so frustrating to feel their love for each other but then they chose not to be together. Both of them didn’t make the effort enough for each other. I felt sad for Liz because she made some effort to see Brady that was futile and was only left broken than before. Though book 2 ended on a great note and all the heart ache proved to be worth it.

Book 3 started happy for both of them and it continued throughout. They've proven the strength of their love for each other and they've conquered their struggles together.

I think we'll be reading more from this series, not on Liz and Brady, perhaps on Savannah or Clay.

This is the first series I've read that focuses on a political topic and I really loved it.

Once you read on book 1 you will definitely get hooked. The story will haunt you until you finish with book 3.

This is recommended to those who love to read about political love stories. Think Scandal but on a lighter note.

Oh my! Hot new trailer and poster just came out earlier. Add to that the season of Jamie Dornan's The Fall TV series!

Off the Record by K.A. Linde

The story is about a secret affair between a college reporter and an elected senator running for higher office.

I felt Hayden and Liz's connection though. But the burning passion isn't there. It couldn't be conjured even with their perfect situation.

In the opposite is what Liz have with Brady. The connection is questionable but the lust and the passion is off the charts. What they have started with lust and it ended with love. I felt Liz's love for Brady but I couldn't feel the same from him.

I started reading this book earlier this month but then I stopped because it wasn't doing it for me. It felt dragging and I kept dozing off. I went back to it just this weekend after reading another book about the life of JFK Jr. I couldn't help but picture him as Brady, with his good looks and history. It was so sad how his life ended so abruptly. Anyway, I went back to this book soon after and I started liking it. I mean there were still moments that I read through quickly and just browsed it, but I was hooked with Brady and Liz's interactions. I loved them together but it wasn't enough.

Near the end of the book I was already rooting for them but I was pretty pissed with Brady. Now I can't wait to read book 2!

Fairy Tale Interrupted by Rosemarie Terenzio

The story of JFK Jr. and Carolyn Bessette is so interesting but oh so sad as their love story ended so abruptly. This book made me want to read through other biographies of JFK Jr.

My only issue was that I thought the book would only focus on the famous couple. But there were parts that focus on the story of the author who happened to be the couple's most trusted assistant for 5 years.

This will not be the last book that I will read about the famous and beautiful couple.

Rusty Nailed by Alice Clayton

This is the continuation of Simon and Caroline's wacky story.

It was so fun to catch up with them plus their whole gang.

There wasn’t a dull moment in the story. It was light and funny. There were minor issues that they easily resolved. I didn’t think I could love Simon even more. It was also so refreshing that they decided to move forward with their relationship. Can't wait to read their next step!

I also enjoyed the Clive POV at the end.

Adultery by Paulo Coelho

Sadly, this book couldn't hold my interest. It was dull and had heavy words. It also didn’t help that the issues of the heroine are so petty. I really couldn't fathom her reasons for committing adultery. Add to that the arrogant and selfish man of her recent affections. Her husband was so loving that her actions are so unacceptable. How can a woman who have it all be so petty with her reasons. I really couldn't take it. This book isn't for me.

Sweet Addiction and Sweet Possession by J. Daniels

If you want to read a book with lots and lots of sex, then this book is for you.

The book is about a one night stand that turned into something serious when they least expect it.

I read through the whole 2 books quickly, basically just browsing it as it couldn't hold my interest. The whole book is about the back and forth of the two main characters, denying feelings for each other. Though the hero's feelings are already pretty obvious, the heroine was stubbornly denying it. So it was a bit frustrating. I'm just not a fan of relationships with communication issues. I would rather read about more angsty stuff. However, if you've just read something heavy, this book is the perfect breather.

For those who want a light story with lots of hot sex this is the book for you.

Landline - Rainbow Rowell

The story is about a married couple with two kids caught up with balancing family and work life. The mother suddenly has a career breakthrough having an effect on their holiday plans that became the last straw in fixing their marriage. While the husband is not as successful in his career as his focus is their family.

The story brings us back to how their love story started and how they resolved their issues in the past.

There was a small amount of paranormal feel to it. This is my only issue with the story. But overall I  still liked the book. It gives us lessons on resolving marriage issues.

Everytime I Think of You - Tracey Garvis Graves

This is a beautiful heartfelt story of second chances and forgiveness.

This is the story of Brooks and Daisy plus Elliott. Oh how I loved Elliott! Brooks and Daisy are also lovable and likable characters.

This story is about how a crime investigation reporter fell for the subject of his report. While the heroine learns to survive her loss and divorce. The plot is a combination of crime and romance.

I loved the slow pacing of their love story. How their connection was slowly built and how Elliott stole the story with his cuteness. I also loved Daisy, she's frank and upfront and doesn't act like a doormat despite her circumstances. She is resilient and she knows how to handle herself.

I also loved Brooks but there was one instance when I felt frustrated with him. Though he quickly redeemed himself and so I loved him even more. What he did for Daisy and Elliott is so admirable.

There wasn’t a dull moment when I was reading this book. It was slow paced yet it captures your interest. It also helped that the characters were lovable. This is highly recommended. Then again there isn't a Tracey Garvis Graves book that I didn't like.

53 Letters To My Lover and From His Lips - Leylah Attar

"The moment I said her pet name, I knew I was done. She might stop to rest on my shoulder, let me hold her for a while, my palms outstretched, let me marvel at her fragile, fleeting wings, but the slightest breeze and she’d be gone, taking with her all my colors.

Because she wasn’t mine to love. Or to have, or to hold. She wore a shiny gold band around her finger, and it wasn’t mine. She had worn it since the first time we’d met."

What an emotionally charged story. Beautiful and heartbreaking! Troy and Shayda's story make us feel so many emotions. Happy, sad, angry, loved, disappointed, regret, etc. I cannot even remember what happened the whole day I was reading this book! I was so consumed!

Troy Heathgate is one hell of a hero! He is one my my most favorite so far! His larger than life personality, his disposition and his resilience! Oh my you can't help but fall in love with him! I also cried with him. I felt the helplessness of their situation. I love him. Troy will stay in my heart for a while. He is one of the few heroes who cracked me up.

This isn't the typical love story. This is the all consuming, encompassing, no limit and no boundaries love. I can't even begin to get over their story. Major hangover. And might I add that the love scenes is so heartfelt and not too detailed but still scorching hot. Troy is one hot book boyfriend!

For fans of The Opportunist this book is for you. The story has the same vibe going, love that spans time, the history and the longing. If you loved Caleb you will also fall in deep with Troy. If wanted to shake Olivia to her senses, you would definitely want to smack Shayda as well. Though she is a tamed down version of Olivia. You will also love the funny banters and interactions between the two main characters.

I also loved From His Lips. This is a short story, a version in Troy's view of the most important moments of the main book. It was short and sweet not drawn out unnecessarily. In fact I would have wanted to read two or three more scenes in his view. But good thing this novella was short because it would take the meat out of the main book and would become quite dull. So to me it was the perfect length and left me longing for more.

I will truly miss Beetroot Butterfly and Scary Cherry. Their story will stay in me for a very long time. Highly recommended!

Now You See Her - James Patterson

Perfect mystery and crime novel. I read it in one seating. I felt fear and anxiety for Jeanine. It was the perfect book to get out of my romance novel book funk. I loved it. It has the right amount of darkness and mystery for my liking. I loved that the chapters are short and that it was written a bit fast paced.

What initially compelled me to read this book is the beautiful cover. But soon I was captivated with Jeanine's story.

Unspeakable Truths - Alice Montalvo Tribue

Because the prologue was so catchy I had to read it ASAP!

The story started with so much love overflowing. Then suddenly in the next chapter the feeling was stripped out. Who would have thought!

Anyway this book is about how the heroine the tragedy and how little by little her supposed happy ending wasn't really a fairy-tale after all.

This book has the second chance romance plot. It was short and sweet. Not too angsty. You will love the hero Luke. He was patient and swoony.

Pieces of You - Ella Harper

I felt tired after reading this book. There were so many levels of heart ache in the story. I'm not going delve much into the plot so as not to ruin it for others because it happened to me. Before I started the book, I read some reviews and I got the gist and some spoilers. So when the heart breaking scenes happened, it wasn't a shock anymore.

But I couldn't help but feel that there is something lacking, maybe some more of the "feels" in the writing. In some books where I also knew the ending beforehand, I still felt the ugly cry. Sadly I didn’t feel it here.

What compelled me to read the book is that the plot is somehow similar to what is happening with my life such as fertility issues, the depression of being childless and some marriage issues. But thank God that my problems are not as grave as what happened to Lucy. I cannot imagine surviving my life if what happened to her would happen to me. It's unthinkable! It's totally heartbreaking!

"I thought about the vitamins, the acupuncture, the doctors, the therapy, the alcohol avoidance, the hope, the joy and the disappointment. And about what might be ahead for us if nothing else worked.

‘It will happen, Luce,’ Luke said, reading my mind as he gripped my shoulders. ‘We will have a baby'"

What I liked about the writing style of this book is how most of the characters were given chapters in their viewpoint, from Lucy, Luke, Nell and Patricia. Though in the later part of the book I zoned out on Patricia's view.

I also liked the heroine Lucy that despite all that happened to her she still picked up the pieces. It didn't bring her down for long. She fought for her life. I like characters like this, very inspiring and determined.

Bright Side - Kim Holden

I went in blind with this book and I did not regret it!

Although I didn’t feel the ugly cry, my heart was crying for Kate. She is one of my favorite characters so far. I love her! I love her attitude and disposition. I love everything about her. She is strong and resilient and steadfast. Wow. A true heroine at best.

I also loved Keller and Gus. I want to read more about them. Though I don't want to read about them with anyone else ha!

I don't want to delve into the story. But believe me when I say this book is so worth reading. I didn’t zone out for a bit. The story is so inspiring.

Come To Me Softly - A.L. Jackson

This was quite a disappointment from the first book. Sad that the sequel couldn't hold on to my interest. Some stories have not succeeded in this feat. Only a few can, but those chosen few also experience a bit of lack luster now and then. Sadly the continuation of the story lacked the captivating factor. I mostly read through the book quickly.

Don't Let Go - Sharla Lovelace

Another quick read that's not too angsty.

It has a moderate topic about second chance romance.

The pain level is not so much.

What hit me the most is how the daughter talks to her mother in a not so likable way. I felt the mothers pain. I only realize it now. I regret doing it to my own mother. Now I know how it feels.

One Night Promised - Jodi Ellen Malpas

Kinda dragging from the start.

Am not really feeling the insta attraction and  connection whatever it is that they felt for each other from the very start.

I just can't get a grip of how in the first night they met the hero is already explaining himself to the heroine? I mean they haven't even properly met yet! From being pretty pissed to suddenly being overly attracted to each other? I'm not really into it at the moment. Will put this on hold and will just try to get back to it shortly.

Am just a bit disappointed because I loved This Man series from this author.

After I Do - Taylor Jenkins Reid

" He’s going to kiss someone else, if he hasn’t already. He’s going to touch her. He’s going to want her in a way that he no longer wants me. He’s going to tell her things he never told me. He’s going to lie there next to her, feeling satisfied and happy. She’s going to remind him of how good it can feel to be with a woman. And while all of this is happening, he’s not going to be thinking about me at all. And there’s not a thing I can do to stop it."

Loved it that the story showed how love started and how it also started to fade.
From getting to know you to get out of my face.
The small fights.
The selfishness.
Throwing mistakes of each other.
Not caring about the well being of the spouse.
Being too complacent.
Not being intimate.
Being childless.
Too focused on work and earning money or saving money.
No time for fun.
Going out alone without the spouse. Out of town trips alone.
Not compromising.
Not giving in to each others needs.

Most long time couples go through these.

But this book is also about how to pick up the pieces again. How to find each other and start over.

This book made me cry. This book made me smile. It's a mix of both and it’s one hell of a ride. My heart felt like exploding from pain and happiness. You will love the hero and heroine and all others around them.

This book will stay in my heart for a long time.
One of the best so far. Not an ounce of dullness in the words. I love it.

Black Lies - Alessandra Torre

Well all I can say is Layana is a really lucky b***h.

Imagine choosing between 2 great guys.
Two guys fighting over her! Oh my! A true fantasy!

This story has the same element as that of the author's other book Sex Love Repeat. However, the difference is the crazy twist! Who would have thought! Am not quite sold if it could really happen in real life but damn was it hot!

I had misconceptions about Layana at first but I liked her.

This book is highly recommended to those who love to break away from heavy angst. The story has some issues but on a moderate pace. The story is like a dream and a fantasy all rolled into one.

Wife Number Seven - Melissa Brown

What I liked about this book is that it's totally different from any other love story I've read. I've never read something like this. It was interesting. It gave us a glimpse of life inside a polygamous marriage.

However overall the story was Just Ok. I didn’t feel love for the hero. I felt that he was weak compared to the heroine. I liked the heroine though. I liked her attitude and how she handles her issues. I like the way she thinks and how she readies herself for something new. But the insta-love wasn't for me. Am not into the love at first sight themes. But the love scenes were hot and not too detailed but really heartfelt.

The Saint - Tiffany Reisz

At book 5 of this series and I am still gushing and pretty much swooning with love for the characters and the story. I can't get enough of this series!

I'm also loving the intelligent dialogue between Eleanor and Soren. I especially love how Soren holds his conversations. Very bright and intellectual. Their connection was palpable from the very start. This book brings us back to the past but the story doesn't feel old and still brings in interesting scenes! Those who follow this series more or less knows some bits and pieces of Nora's stories, but it still feels new to my taste and its still very captivating.

The story focused back when our hero and heroine first met and how their friendship and relationship started. I felt various emotions, I felt the attraction, the budding crush. I felt her pain when they first separate. And most I felt the love between Soren and Nora.

The first meeting with Kingsley was so funny.
And the first night with Soren is hot!

If in the first books I haven't expressed my love for Soren, in this book it is stronger than ever! Blondie got to me! If I can only push Nora to go back to him quickly and not bother with others! I want her to make the most of her time with him. Their connection is stronger than anything. Their history so deep that I'm having a hard time accepting Nico. This is the same agony that I felt with her time with Wesley. There will never be another more perfect match for Nora than Soren. Plus Kingsley!

Overall Rating:
I don't think I should bother rating this book anymore as I know even before I started it that Nora's stories is the Bomb and it will ultimately be 5 stars all throughout! I only hope it can be maintained in the coming books.

The author writes so brilliantly that she can make you accept the unacceptable, expect the unexpected and tolerate the forbidden.

I love this series. I never should have waited long to read it. Highly recommended!

The Mistress - Tiffany Reisz

If in the first 3 books you aren't sure of Soren's feelings for Nora, in this book you will definitely believe it. He proved his love for her in this sequel. I really felt it. It gave me the chills.

And instead of feeling put off because of the sin they are committing, I truly understood them and I couldn't feel hate or resentment. In fact I want them to be together.

For me my faith didn’t get bothered in this sequel because of Soren's beliefs and values. He is sinning, but he is also a great priest. Hard as it may seem but it really is the situation. He also imparts wisdom about his religion that Catholics like me would appreciate. He speaks beautiful words I tell you! The man is a genius!

And I never thought I would say this but the first time of Nora with Soren and Kingsley was so hot. This is the one detailed sex scene that's worth reading. I don't read much of menage, I read a scene like it in another book but I didn’t like it. It wasn't arousing and it felt a bit dirty to me. But then, this scene, oh my, sparks flew! It is definitely hot hot hot. It was beautifully written! Erotica at its best.

I can't get enough of Nora's stories. At book 4, my curiosity and attention at its peak. I can't wait to read The Saint.

There's only one scene that felt lukewarm and bittersweet, although it was a beautiful gift from Soren, I felt possessiveness of him during his interactions with Grace.

The Prince - Tiffany Reisz

This sequel is about the prince of Paris and the prince of Kentucky.

We get to understand the world of Wesley and Kingsley.

This sequel has M/m but it wasn't written dirty. The story depicts love in many shades.

I cannot believe I'm saying this but I also felt the heat. More so with the story of Kingsley. I now understand how it must be easy to love Kingsley.

There is love in words. Felt it. Especially with Soren. This man speaks beautiful words.

Although I love wesley, he is young, safe and secure, but I don’t think he is what Nora needs. I still yearn for Soren and Nora to be together again, wrong as it may seem. I really can’t deny their strong connection.

There is a bit of a lull in this book because lets face it, Soren and Nora and Kingsley is unbreakable. So the scenes with Wesley are just icing on the cake.

Now, moving on to the next book, The Mistress. I am really amazed with this author. Normally, on the third book of a series my interest tend to zone out and I just read through the rest in a fast pace. However in this series, going on the fourth book, my attention is still standing and alert. My curiosity is up to my neck and I couldn't put the books down! I really fell in love with the characters and story. My only regret is why I didn't read the series sooner! And I also have one wish, that because the series is so beautiful, my expectations on BDSM stories have now been set so high, I just hope that other similar books can cope and fair well.

This is highly recommended.

The Angel - Tiffany Reisz

“I’ll always come back to you.”
“I know, If I didn’t believe that, I wouldn’t let you go.”
“Believe it. It’s true. Always.”
"When you leave right now, you will walk and not run.”
“I’d never run from you, remember? But I’ll always run back."

Can you feel the emotions in this conversation? Oh I sure did!

This is my first time to read f/m with m/m genre. This sequel depicts love in many shades. It's not usually my thing. But after this book, it didn't feel awkward anymore. It wasn't dirty and it wasn't grossly written so it worked for me. Towards the end you will get the shocking discovery that aside from Griffin, there's another bisexual couple around. My head turned with the discovery.

Since the first book is about Nora, this sequel is centered on the tumultuous yet intense story of Soren and Nora with the beautiful side story of Michael and Griffin. So "the angel" here is Michael. Of course Kingsley, Wesley and Juliette is around as well as new characters like Suzanne and Patrick.

The story is so full of twists and turns that I couldn't stop reading it. I'm also amazed that I haven't lost the interest yet especially since I have the tendency to get bored with sequels. Now I'm with book 2 and I peeked at book 3 and 4 (the prince and the mistress), sorry I couldn't help it, I am just so engrossed with the story that I want to finish it all in a week.

Honestly, I've had this sequel on my radar for quite sometime now. I haven't picked it up because I learned the gist of the forbidden story. I usually stay away from the topic because I am a Catholic and I thought I'd feel awkward with the story. Because of the recent release of The Saint and with it, the outstanding reviews, my attention peeked. I tried the first book, The Siren, although there are some issues that I personally don't agree with, overall I liked the book, I loved the heroine (Nora), I didn’t feel any negative reactions and I didn’t feel any disrespect to my religion. So here I am, on the way to the third book, excitement and curiosity still high with a new perspective on the hero (Soren) and I still couldn't get enough.

I couldn't believe it at first but towards the end I was rooting for Soren and Nora. Wrong as it may be, but the story has such a strong pull that you get intrigued by it. Their relationship is so not normal, theirs is the ultimate forbidden romance, yet the love and connection is there and truly felt. Their love so strong they are able to let go of some issues that normal couple would find unacceptable.

This series is not for everyone but I'm still recommending it. Just don't take it too seriously and remember that it's meant to be read and enjoyed only for a little while, to escape and experience how others live their lives. It's not real life. Don't let it shake your faith.

Also, you may think that because it's erotica, the sex would be a major part. That's not the case, there's sex but not so much. There are scenes were it's fade to black and readers are left with their imagination. So there, if you think you can give it a go, do so because it's worth it.

The Siren - Tiffany Reisz

"If you come back to me, will you run or will you crawl?"

"I’ll fly."

What an intriguing and captivating book!

I had hesitations when I started this, I couldn't go through with it because I already know the forbidden part of it. But The Saint caught my eye and I just had to try it. So this first book is about Nora, the writer and the dominatrix.

On chapter 2 I'm already hooked! I liked Nora's character. She's such a blast! No wonder men are falling for her left and right.

I also liked the writing style because it didn’t need to be too detailed, but still you get it. It makes you think. The mystery is exciting.

It's not the dirty erotica type as sex is not described step by step. The BDSM is not described grossly. It can get your eyes big though as some of the scenes are not for the faint hearted.

I'm not sure how I feel about Zach, I liked Grace better. Wesley is such an angel and I can’t blame Nora for loving him.

At book 1, Im not sure how I feel about Soren and Kingsley. There’s something dark about them that I couldn't comprehend yet. I'm gearing up for the next book though, I wonder who it’s about.

This book is recommended to those who love some suspense and mystery in romance. There's BDSM but it was written tastefully. There are some scenes about religion that Catholics may not like or agree with as the story depicts the sin committed by the characters and varying interpretations of teachings and beliefs. Don't take it too seriously though as this is still fiction and it doesn't have to shake your faith.

Carnage 2 The Story of Me - Lesley Jones

I'm not really sure how I feel about this sequel.

I mean, I liked the first book better. I just felt that the story was pretty predictable, like a drawn out epilogue. Other than the fact that I wanted to know how the heroine survives the loss, there was nothing to hold on to the story. I knew eventually that Cam would have a major part in the recovery. The sequel just didn’t work for me. There were also scenes were I zoned out and I find the dialogues too long. It would have been easier to read if the paragraphs weren't too long. The heroine also didn’t mature, she's the same spoiled self entitled bitch and that Cam's life would be better off without her.

Dirty Angels by Karina Halle

"I want to destroy beautiful things before they can destroy me.”

I am not really sure how I feel about this book. Yes I love Javier Bernal. He is the guilty pleasure, the secret book boyfriend, the hottest bad boy of the Artist Trilogy. He is ruthless, cunning and fearless. I didn’t think he could get any darker.

Well, there were moments when he did and there were also moments when he didn’t. And because of that I had a somehow lukewarm acceptance of Luisa. Maybe I'm just jealous, but I didn’t wish him to become too winded by her. And I didn’t think Javier had it in him to go through the lengths of what he did for her. It was bittersweet for me.

The love scenes are hot though. But I couldn't feel the connection. Javier and Ellie's was more intense, especially if you've read On Every Street.

I have a bad feeling with Esteban. I think his traitor side will come out in the next book about Alana and Derek.

This book is recommended to those who are into action romance books. Not for the faint hearted though, some scenes are quite dark.

Bold Tricks by Karina Halle

“Oh, give it a rest, angel, One minute I’m hurting you, the next minute you like it.”

“I haven’t liked it for a long time,” I seethed through my teeth.

“Is that so?” He cocked his head at me. “I could have sworn it was just a few days ago that I last made you scream.”

“Fuck you.”

He grinned. “That you did, my angel. That you did.”

Javier stole the show once again. He is so bad yet so alluring. The bad boy that many would want to hate and love no matter how inappropriate. Oh how I wanted to punch him many times but also wanted to hug him. Karina Halle did a good job making the readers feel what Ellie is feeling. This is what I felt the whole time I was reading the book. And much as I don’t want to admit it, Javier stood out in this ending of the Sins and Needles series, what will all his sick issues, manipulations and twisted love.

This last book is so full of action, manipulations, lies and longing. And just because it took a long time for me before I read this sequel, I already knew before I started it how the series ended. And it was bittersweet at first for me, but then I accepted it and how it ended was better for Ellie. And I really felt happy for her in the last chapter.

Lastly, I may not be Camden's 100% fan before this book, after reading this though I am now at 110%! He may take a bit of a step back in this sequel, but he is the one constant in the background and he showed his loyalty and his worth.

Cheers to the ending of this series. Hello to the dark twisted world of Javier. Good thing that Dark Angel is already out so I can still get my forbidden Javier fix.

Dair by R.K. Lilley

As soon as this got out I just had to read it ASAP. This is the conclusion to Dair and Iris' story. I have been waiting for this as I have so many questions on the story. The first two didn't have the answers.

Up until the last chapter in the book, the story was full of suspense and mystery. I got a clue as to the identity of Iris in the second book but still couldn't put my thoughts in it. Then after the second half we get the confirmation.

There were moments when I felt pissed at Iris for stringing Dair along. But she truly loved him. And eventually I also felt his love for her as I still believed until this last book that it's all just lust.

And oh boy how lust was totally into this book. It's scorching hot. But tamed down compared to the last two books.

This is just a short read, finished it in about 3 hours. The short hours was totally worth it considering I'm still reeling from the release of the trailer for Fifty Shades of Grey.

Anyway, this book is also great read for those in between sequels, to get a breather from the monotony of reading similar characters in succession.

I'm not going into detail of what happened in the book anymore but be assured that if you are looking for the right amount of suspense and mystery then this book is for you. So grab it and be lost for a few hours.

Good thing though that there are other book after this. This time it's The Other Man and it's about Heath's story. I won't say who his love interest is so you can find out for yourself. I also have a clue on another book The Tyrant who it’s going to be. I can't wait enough!

Fifty Shades of Grey Movie

Since it was released a few days ago I couldn't concentrate on a book. I've playing it over and over again. Add that to the fact that I've watched all their interviews and trailers. This started when Beyonce released that beautiful teaser!

All I can say is wow! Jamie Dornan is really hot and fits Christian Grey to a tee. That's just my opinion. Some may argue, but to each his own. One of the interviews was so funny (it was the fluffer) and Jamie's reaction is so cute.

Anyway enough gushing. I think I may start a re-read of the books instead since there's no chance that I can go through a book in depth after all this. Well, I think I may try another quick read. Then off to Fifty Shades once again.

Oh before I forget that elevator scene is off the charts! Love it!

The song choice is perfect as well. I can already see that this movie is going to be awesome!

Upcoming Books: Everytime I Think of You - Tracey Garvis Graves

Another book coming out from one of my favorite authors.

I read a prologue and it gave me the chills. Plus I already fell in love with Elliot, the three year old kid in the story.

No idea when this will be out though but this is already in my radar and will update soon!

Captivated By You

Another teaser, but still no book!
Ugh! When is this coming out!

Upcoming Books: Carnage 2 - Lesley Jones

Omg!!! I can't wait for this to come out! This book gave me the book ugly tears this year! I catwalk to read what happens next after the bitter ending. Ugh!

This will be out August 1, 2014
