Holy Frigging Matrimony - Emma Chase

It’s always so refreshing to read about Drew and Kate. It’s hilarious and sweet at the same time. It’s also fun being inside Drew’s mind. It makes you love him more.

This is just 40 pages long and oh so worth it. This is just the short story following the phenomenal book 1 Tangled. Can’t wait for the next installment.

Man Of My Dreams - Faith Andrews

This book reminds me of my own life story. It has the elements of the younger husband married to a more experienced and older woman. Things happened too fast too soon for them and this is where the issues started. 

The story tackles marriage issues and how both parties added to the problems. 

At first I started to dislike Declan because it seems that his immaturity is getting out. But the readers also get glimpses inside his mind and I finally understood him. In fact I loved him.

While the opposite is what I felt for Mia, I felt frustrated for her for prolonging their agony. She got caught up in nostalgia and the past that it almost ruined her family.

Though the story is narrated mostly in Mia's view, it was nice that there were chapters on Declan’s view.

The songs mentioned in the book takes the readers back to the past and it set the nostalgic mood.

Again, as in most marriages, communication is the key. It would have solved their problems sooner had it not been for the stubbornness of Mia.

I loved it but I wanted both of them to open up and discuss their issues and not forget about it as if nothing happened. I didn't get to read it in the story.

In reality I would've preferred talking the issues privately instead of grand gestures, but oh well that's what books are for! It allows us to experience something not in the ordinary.

Their Merry Little Christmas (Love Square #2.5) by Jessica Ingro

I was in the mood for some Christmas book and because I the Love Square series is one of my favorites so I decided to read this next. It was so great to catch up with Sam, Aiden, Jacob and Kara. They are all in the happy place at the moment. I can’t wait for book 3 of this series. This is just a short read and I was able to finish it in two hours.

This is book 3 of the Accidentally on Purpose series.

Book 1 was narrated in Emmy’s view. Book 2 is about the dangerous and alpha male Kyle Sterling. While the last book is in Luke Kessler’s view.

This is my much awaited book in the series as I’ve always wanted to understand what was in the mind of Luke while all the  sh**storm was happening.

The book started out with the most poignant part in book 1. It is the part where my heart broke the most.

Although I’ve already read the story in the previous books I didn't feel bored that I'm reading the same thing. It still feels brand new and it was so refreshing to get inside Luke’s mind. I understood him more and I loved him better. There were also new scenes in this book that added to the beauty of this series. My heart broke and felt full of love once again.

I will really miss this series but I am also excited to read Donya's story. I have a hunch on the man she's pining for, and it certainly feels forbidden.

The Silent Wife - A.S.A. Harrison

“Life has a way of taking its toll on the person you thought you were.” 

I was quite surprised that I really loved this book. There were mixed reviews on this book so I didn't think that I would love it. But I got drawn to the book, its interesting, captivating and disturbing. The title and blurb got to me. Told in alternating third person POV. This book is about a somehow marriage that suddenly crumbled, a bored and depressed husband and a broken wife.

Jodi is a typical stepford wife with daily routines always sticks to a schedule. But her cool and collected demeanor has cracks inside that even her so called husband of 20 years didn't know. The title is really apt for her. She is the perfect silent wife, always unperturbed and in control.

Todd is a selfish bastard and I hated him. I hated every core of him. He doesn't have a heart. After 20 years together, he has the audacity to do that to her. How can he do that to someone he supposedly loves. I wanted to slap him. I cried for Jodi, I felt her pain, her bottled up emotions, its heart wrenching. Both have faults on why things happened but I really felt sympathetic to Jodi.

This book is brilliant. Recommended for those who loved Gone Girl. The story was heavy and that some of the things happens in real life. There were scenes were i read fast because it was too detailed and long inner thoughts. But still the author did a good job in immersing the readers into two different worlds of Todd and Jodi. The author also used deep words and deep sentences which may be hard to understand at first.
